Potty training II

Well we are still working on it. These are some picture books my daughter likes about learning to go to the potty

On Your Potty by Virginia Miller
This is one of a series featuring George, a big bear, and Bartholomew/Ba, a baby bear. This was nice because it is a board book and has few words to the page. Some we have seen are just to wordy for young kids to sit still through. The illustrations are very soft and inviting. Ba is a typical toddler and says "Nah" all the time. George is patient when Ba tries and gives a big hug when Ba succeeds.

My Big Girl Potty Book by Joanna Cole
This book is out of print, but seems to be readily available as a used copy. Cole also did a book for boys. I liked this book a great deal. Ashley trys and doesn't succeed at first. I like that she tries to potty her stuffed animals. The colourful pictures appealed to my daughter. This book is a little longer and follows up on what happens after the first success. Ashley and her mom go and buy panties. Ashley has an accident, but it is handled well.

Potty Power for Boys and Girls (DVD)
We tried this, but it didn't really interest my daughter, who is not quite two. This might be better with an older child. It was a lively and musical production, but did focus well on the task at hand.
